Privacy Policy - Purpose Again

Last updated: 01.07.2026 · Purpose Again Pty Ltd, ABN: 76697408147 ("Purpose Again", "we", "us")

The short version

Your reflections are yours. We use them for one purpose: helping you build your Purpose Profile and find meaningful pathways. We never sell your information. Everything you share is stored in Australia, protected with strong security, and every time a staff member views something sensitive, that access is recorded. Some processing (like the AI that helps draft your profile) happens overseas - we tell you exactly where and why below.

Who we are

Purpose Again is an Australian program that helps people move from retirement into meaningful participation. We deliver it in partnership with organisations such as retirement villages, libraries, councils and community groups ("partner organisations"). If you're a participant, you were invited by one of these partners.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, location, email address, and phone number (if provided) - used to invite you, sign you in, find location relevant activities and send notifications you've chosen.

  • Your reflections: the answers you write (or dictate, if voice features are enabled) during the program. This is the most personal information we hold and we treat it accordingly.

  • Your Purpose Profile: a summary drafted with the help of AI from your reflections, reviewed before it's shared with you.

  • Program activity: which steps you've completed, check-ins, and pathway choices - used to support your journey and to give your partner organisation evidence the program is working.

  • Technical records: security and audit logs, sign-in records, and consent records.

We collect information directly from you, or from your partner organisation when they invite you (name and contact details only).

How we use it

  1. To run your program: reflections → Purpose Profile → suggested pathways → your 90-day journey.

  2. To keep you safe: our system automatically screens reflections for signs of serious distress so a facilitator can check in, and we show crisis support information (such as Lifeline, 13 11 14) where appropriate. This is a supportive prompt, not a medical service.

  3. To send you sign-in codes and the notifications you've opted into (email, SMS, push).

  4. To report to your partner organisation - in aggregate. Facilitators see your progress status and your approved Purpose Profile; they see summaries or flagged items from reflections only where needed for your support, and every such access is logged.

  5. To improve and secure the service.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use your reflections to train AI models.

AI, honestly explained

We use AI to help draft your Purpose Profile, suggest pathways, and screen for distress. The AI works under strict rules: it acts as a coach and guide, never a therapist; it only works from what you've actually written; and its drafts are subject to review before being shared. You can ask your facilitator how any AI-assisted output was produced.

Where your information lives (and travels)

  • Stored in Australia. Your data is held in databases located in Australia (Sydney), and our application servers run in Australia.

  • Some processing happens overseas. To provide specific features, limited data is processed by trusted providers whose systems operate outside Australia, including: AI processing of reflections to draft profiles and screen for distress (United States); SMS delivery (United States); email delivery (United States/Japan infrastructure); and, if voice features are enabled, speech-to-text transcription (United States - audio is transcribed and not retained). These providers process data to perform the service and are bound by contractual protections; we take reasonable steps consistent with Australian Privacy Principle 8 to ensure your information is handled in line with Australian privacy law.

How we protect it

Security is a design principle here, not an afterthought: encryption in transit and at rest; database-level access rules so each person can only ever read their own records; multi-factor authentication for administrators (and for partner staff where their organisation requires it); no passwords for participants (one-time codes instead); tamper-evident, append-only audit records of every access to sensitive information; and separation between our test and production environments.

Your choices and rights

You can access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, choose your notification channels, decline or withdraw consent (which may limit what the program can offer), and ask us to delete your account and reflections. Contact privacy@purposeagain.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're unhappy with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Retention

We keep your information while you participate and for 24 months afterwards, then delete or de-identify it, except records we must keep by law and de-identified statistics. Your relationship with a partner organisation may end, but your account remains yours.

Changes & contact
